An unusual plant, not often availble in nurseries. Roldana petasitis subsp. cristobalensis has medium to large red velvet leaves on the underside. A wonderful rare plant with purple and green hairy stem. Grows to 4 to 5ft, can be shaped into standard or bushy shrub. Roldana petasitis also known as velvet groundsel is a species of the genus Roldana and family Asteraceae that used to be a Senecio.
This evergreen perennial has yellow flowers and large velvet leaves up to 10 inches. Grows best under glass where it will grow large. Best temperatures are between 10c to 25c but will go down to 0C outside. Grow as a large pot plant for a truly magnificent and unique showcase specimen. If you have Brugmansia treat it the same and you can't go wrong!
