Masdevallia coccinea alba

Flower Size 1 1/2 to 3" [3.5 to 7.5 cm]

Found in Colombia as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial on sides of rocky cliffs with erect leaves that is found at elevations of 2400 to 3000 meters and blooms in the spring with short ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, oblong-lanceolate to spathulate, petiolate, rounded and minutely tridentate apically leaf that blooms in the later spring and summer on a slender, erect, to 12" [30 cm] long, slightly flexous, single flowered, inflorescence with a spotted bract at each node and the waxy, variable sized flowers held higher than the leaves.

Sold in 9cm pot in sphagnum moss. FS
